2014 Fantasy Golf Daily Fix: RBC Heritage at Harbour Town

This week we head to Hilton Head, South Carolina for the RBC Heritage at the beautiful Harbour Town Golf Links. Below you will find my DraftStreet daily fantasy picks for the tournament this week.

Tour Stop

Harbour Town Golf Links is a 7,101 yards, par 71 layout – the first course from the mind of Jack Nicklaus. The course is short, but still offers lots of challenges to golfers long and short. The course always reminds me of the groundbreaking computer game Links 386 Pro (as Harbour Town was the course of choice on the game). Perhaps I’m showing my age. Let’s move on…

Field

This field this week is not quite the same as we saw last week at Augusta. We only have 21 of the top 50 in the Overall World Golf Rankings here. However, the field is larger (back up to 132 players) and the top 70 plus ties make the cut and head to the weekend.

Injuries

Jason Day has withdrawn and says he won’t be back on the tee until May 8 at the Players Championship. Dudley Hart and Rory Sabbatini are both in the listed field after missing time with back and neck injuries respectively. We will also see Steve Marino’s return – he’s been out since March 10.

2013 Tournament Results

Here is the top 10 from the 2013 RBC Heritage:

Let’s look at a few options this week – this tourney’s been around since the late 60s and it’s always been on the same course, so you will likely see more “horses for courses” picks in my selections below.

DraftStreet Expert Picks

K.J. Choi | $14,715 – All he does is make cuts. He’s made four of his last five and isn’t in his best form, but did finish in the top 20 here last year.

Luke Donald |$23,407 – Donald has four top three finishes in his last five appearances at Harbour Town. Nuff said.

Nick Faldo | $5,120 – Faldo won here in 1984. If you want to have some fun, slot him in your lineup and then take five studs. He hasn’t played here since 2006 and really hasn’t played regularly for a while as he’s been busy with his TV career.

Jim Furyk | – $23,944 – Furyk is priced higher than I’d like to see him, but he’s won here once and finished second twice. He’s coming off a great tourney at the Masters and you should pay for the experience. And look at that great jacket you get for winning!

Russell Henley | $16,970 – This is about form and course experience. He’s only played here once, but it was a tie for sixth last year. And he’s coming off a solid performance at the Masters. His salary makes him playable anywhere.

Charley Hoffman | $17,265 – Hoffman has four straight made cuts and three top 25s. He finished tied for sixth last year even with the debacle that was his final round 77.

Spencer Levin | $10,276 – Levin has taken a little vacation since we last saw him teeing it up. However, he gets back to familiar and friendly grounds in Hilton Head.  He’s four for four in cuts made and has three finishes in the top 15. He finished outside the top 15 last year, but did make the weekend.

Davis Love III | $8,826 – Love missed this tourney last year due to injury. However, he used to rule this course (including back to back wins in 1991-1992). He’s made three straight cuts, but he’s not the player he used to be. He’s a risky play if you want to want to pay top dollar for your other five golfers.

Will Mackenzie | $17,739 – Eight straight cuts made and four top seven finishes in those eight tournaments. He’s third in the all-around rank. Can’t beat a player of his caliber for this price.

Kevin Na | $18,537 – Na has missed one cut in his last nine starts. He has six top 20s in those nine starts including three top 10s. He’s in top form and should be counted on to continue it this week.

Carl Petterson | $15,420 – 2012 champ Petterson is on a solid run having made five straight cuts and those finishes include three top 20s.

Cameron Tringale |$14,253 – Tringale has ten straight cuts made including four top 15s in that run. There are few golfers in better form.

Boo Weekley | $13,603 – Weekley won back to back titles here in 2007 and 2008. He’s never missed a cut here. His form isn’t the best, but he’s another horse for course choice with a salary that allows you to go big elsewhere.

Good luck this week! Head over to DraftStreet to choose your squad for this week.
