Eddie Lacy

Quarterbacks

Cam Newton– CAR
Injury – Ribs
The Panthers expect Newton to take the field next week, but we saw how that went this week. The game off should give him enough time to get back to full health or at least close to it. Carolina managed to pull out a win against the Bucs, however they will need Newton to beat the Lions. If he can’t go, Derek Anderson will get a second straight start.

Shaun Hill – STL
Injury- Quad
Hill is not likely to suit up next week after suffering a quad strain Week 1. Reports state that he is “a long shot” to play. Austin Davis could get the start in Week 2. Case Keenum is also an option for the Rams.

Running Backs

Eddie Lacy – GB
Injury- Concussion
Lacy has passed the first step of his concussion protocol. The 10 days off appears to be enough of a break for Lacy to be ready for Week 2. You never quite know with concussions anymore. James Starks would get his reps if he can’t go.

Ben Tate – CLE
Injury- Knee
There is no update on Ben Tate’s injury as of now. Monitor this situation moving forward. Terrance West could be a nice pickup if Tate can’t go.

Toby Gerhart – JAX
Injury- Ankle
Gerhart sprained his ankle against the Eagles and will be limited to start the season. Denard Robinson and Jordan Todman would have to pick up the slack if Gerhart can’t go.

Doug Martin –TB
Injury- Lower Leg
Martin “rolled on his leg” Sunday and we will have to wait and see the severity of his injury. His lower leg was heavily wrapped following the game on Sunday. Bobby Rainey appears to be next in line for touches. Nevertheless, Mike James is just as good, if not better. He has injury concerns of his own.

Andre Ellington – ARZ
Injury- Foot
This story has been all over the place. It looks like Ellington is going to be questionable every week for the foreseeable future. If you are an Ellington owner be prepared for weeks of frustration and game-time decisions. Jonathan Dwyer is expected to be the starter if Ellington is ruled out.

Dri Archer– IND
Injury- Knee and Ankle
The undersized RB predictably could not even make it through the first game. He’s questionable for Thursday’s game.

Wide Receivers

Alshon Jeffery– CHI
Injury- Hamstring
Jeffery left Sunday’s game and was not able to return for the fourth quarter or over time. The Bears do not seem to be concerned and claim it was just precautionary, nevertheless hamstring injuries can linger and get re-injured very easily. Santonio Holmes could be a sneaky good play if Jeffery misses any time.

Lance Moore
Injury- Groin
Moore missed Sunday’s game and is considered questionable for Thursday’s game.

Martavis Bryant
Injury- Shoulder
Bryant missed Sunday’s game and is considered questionable for Thursday’s game.

Tight Ends

Jordan Cameron
Injury- Shoulder
Much like Tate, there is no update on Cameron’s injury.

Jordan Reed
Injury- Hamstring
Reports are that Reed “could miss some time” with a mild hamstring injury. It is very unlikely that he’ll be able to go in week two. Pierre Garcon will likely see even more targets while Reed is out.

Tyler Eifert
Injury- Elbow
Eifert dislocated his elbow and will miss an extended period of time. Jermaine Gresham should see an increase in targets in Eifert’s absence.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins
Injury- Knee
Seferian-Jenkins injured his knee in Sunday’s loss to the Panthers. It appeared to be a minor injury, but we will have to wait for further updates. Brandon Myers led the way for the Tampa TEs.
