Today I will look at six quarterbacks for week seven of the NFL season.  I have divided them in to three tiers, and given a brief explanation to why I think they are worthy of your lineups.  It is pretty straightforward and hopefully will help make your decisions simpler. 

Tier One – Elite 

Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos, $9,000 – Manning takes on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night on prime time television.  This game has more at stake personally for Manning than any non-divisional game.  Manning is two touchdowns away from tying Brett Favre’s record and three from breaking it.  Let’s face even on bad day’s Manning has a high floor and should always be considered for your lineups whether it’s GPP or cash.

Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers, $8,800 – Another quarterback with a high floor is Rodgers.  This weekend he faces the Carolina Panthers at home.  The Panthers are polar opposites of last seasons defense, and have been giving up a lot of points.  Like Manning I love Rodgers for both GPP’s and cash – although I think Rodgers might be a little more contrarian.

Tier Two – Value 

Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions, $7,000 – Even without Megatron I see value here.  Stafford will go toe to toe with Drew Brees in Detroit this Sunday – which might not be the biggest clash of titans with both their go-to-guys questionable to play on Sunday.  The reason I see value in Stafford is that the Saints defense is atrocious, Stafford should be able to make Ryan Broyles look like the second coming of Megatron.

Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals, $7,300 – Palmer coming back last Sunday was a pleasant surprise for everyone but myself (I left Drew Stanton in a bunch of DraftKings entries).  Palmer draws a favorable matchup against his former team the Oakland Raiders, and should be a suitable play for GPP’s.  Palmer has been pretty consistent in both the games he has started, and has made everyone around him better.

Tier Three – Contrarian 

Brian Hoyer, Cleveland Browns, $5,600 – Hoyer has been pretty decent thus far this season, and Jordan Cameron seems to be healthy which gives him a significant bump in value.  But the most important intangible is that the Browns are playing the Jaguars.  At $5,600 Hoyer creates major cap relief for you, and you can build a pretty solid lineup.  On a side note I have seen a few “pros” use him in cash games.

Kirk Cousins, Washington Redskins, $7,400 – Cousins doesn’t get any respect whatsoever.  I am not sure that is fair.  But let’s put all biases aside and look what Blake Bortles did to the Titans defense last week with far inferior tools at disposal – 336 passing yards, 69% completion rating, one TD and one INT for 23.24 DraftKings points, and this was at Tennessee.
