2014 Fantasy Football Daily Fix: Week 15 Running Backs

The following values are my recommended running back plays for Week 15 at DraftKings – the best daily fantasy sports site on the Internet. Here are the scoring settings for running backs, and if you have any more questions about DraftKings or fantasy football in general ask us on Twitter@TheFantasyFix or @44AMiller.

Expensive

C.J. Anderson – $7,800 at San Diego – San Diego has been the second-best defense fantasy-wise against running backs in the last five weeks. But I think the Broncos continue riding Anderson for as long as they can. Peyton Manning has had his two worst yardage totals of the season in the last two games – and some Twitter rumors flew Sunday that he was hurt – while Anderson has averaged 24 touches – and 26 fantasy points – a game in the last five weeks.

Justin Forsett – $7,400 vs. Jacksonville – Forsett’s another guy who’s been crazy consistent – double-digit scoring in every game except one this year to go with scores of 26, 36, 17 and 15 in his past four games. Forsett was questionable before Sunday’s game, but he did the best of any Baltimore running back scoring the lone RB-touchdown and playing well on a per-touch basis. This is the costliest he’s been all year, but he’s proven he’s worth it. Jacksonville has been the fourth-worst defense against running backs in the past five weeks on a fantasy points per-game basis.

Reasonable

Marshawn Lynch – $7,300 vs. San Francisco – There are very few value plays this week, so I’m going with consistency. Lynch has scored double-digits in each of his last six games, and he has over 100 total yards in five of those six. San Francisco has been susceptible to big games by running backs recently, and with the lack of middle-tier options this week (and lots of wide receivers who are going off) Lynch makes for a solid play.

Joique Bell – $5,900 vs. Minnesota – Bell’s shown lately that he’s the top back in Detroit, averaging 96 total yards a game in his last five games. He’s scored double-digits in four of those games, and he’s had the best two games of his season in the past two weeks. Minnesota is allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to running backs in the last five weeks.

Cheap

Jonathan Stewart – $5,000 vs. Tampa Bay – Stewart has had three of his four best games of the season in the last four weeks, and he’s averaging 7.5 yards per carry in his last two games. He should continue to see a majority of carries for the Panthers even if DeAngelo Williams is healthy soon. Tampa has allowed five touchdowns to running backs in its last five games, and it’s allowing the 12th-most fantasy points to running backs in the last five weeks.

LeGarrette Blount – $4,00 vs. Miami – When faced with limited appealing options you can’t go wrong by picking a Patriot especially when they’re at home. Blount scored two touchdowns in garbage time in his first game as a Patriot this season, which was also New England’s most recent home game. Miami has allowed running back performances of 167 rushing yards and a touchdown, 105 rush yards, and 71 rush yards and a touchdown in its last three games.
